LENORD "LENNY" ERWIN EGAN, 84, of Colby Commons in Colebrook, died peacefully on Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at the Coos County Nursing Hospital in West Stewartston after a brief illness.
Lenord was born in Berlin, NH on November 2, 1936. Lenny was raised by his adopted parents Elroy and Ola (Wells) Egan. He was a Veteran of the US Army serving during the Vietnam era. He was a lifelong member of the Groveton American Legion Post #17. He was the past District and Post Chaplain, he served as the post chaplain for 20 years.
Lenny before retiring worked for Foster-Miller Associates as an engineering technician. He enjoyed fishing; fixing clocks and was a true tinkerer.
Lenny is survived by one son Greg Egan and wife Kimberly of Douglas, MA; and one adopted daughter Ola Mayberry and her significant other Micheal "Mike" Williams of Colebrook and several grandchildren.
Lenny was predeceased by his wife of 61 years Minnie Egan on November 5, 2020; his parents and two sons Fred Egan and Mike Egan.
There will be no calling hours. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Friday, September 10, 2021, at 11:00 am in the Center Cemetery in North Stratford, NH with Pastor Paul Levang of the Hope Baptist Church in Stewartstown, officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Lenny's name to the American Legion Post 17; 206 State St.; Groveton, NH 03582.
