Obituary

RICHARD R. "DICK" BOURASSA, 78, of Rich St., Groveton, died peacefully at home on Thursday, December 30, 2021, after a lengthy illness, with his loving family by his side.

Richard was born on November 11, 1943, in Berlin, NH a son of the late Phillip and Alberta (Fortin) Bourassa. He grew up in Berlin and has been a resident of Groveton since 1979.

Before retiring in 1998, Richard worked as a filter plant operator for James River and Wausau Papers for many years. After retiring he worked with George Caron ; Emerson Outdoor Fitters; and was a handyman for a few of the local businesses. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and doing yard-work and helping others.

Richard was a veteran of the US Army. He was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Church in Groveton.

Richard is survived by his two daughters Lisa Hamilton and husband Drew and Lora Charbonneau and her significant other John Vashaw all of Groveton; three grandsons Eric Charbonneau and wife Miranda; Brendon Charbonneau, and Danny Charbonneau and wife Dakota, and one granddaughter Drew Hamilton; nine great-grandchildren Noah; Conner; Sophia; Cami; Maddox; Carli; Paisleigh; Jaycee; and Miley; a foster grandson Robert Spaulding; son-in-law Timothy Charbonneau of Lancaster; two sisters Doris Boudoine of Whitefield and Aurora Maure of Gorham; one brother Roland Bourassa and wife Virginia of Gorham; his cat and companion Mikey; and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by, in addition to his parents, his wife of 50 years Lorraine Bourassa on February 29, 2016; and one sister Ann Marie Bourassa.

Memorial calling hours will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022 from 9:30 am to 11:30am at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home in Groveton. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at 12:00 noon at the St. Francis Xavier Church in Groveton, with Fr. Daniel Deveau, pastor officiating. Burial with military honors will be in the Northumberland Cemetery on Friday, May 27, 2022 at 11:00am.
