WAYNE ARLO ELLIOTT, SR., 80, of Melcher Court, Groveton, died Monday, September 5, 2022, at Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook after a lengthy illness.

Wayne was born on June 16, 1942, in Lancaster, NH a son of the late Raymond Elliott and Phyllis (Nelson) Ford. He was a resident of Groveton until 1960 when he enlisted in the military. While in the military, Wayne lived in several different states including New York and Massachusetts.

Wayne served from 1960 to 1966 in the US Navy and from 1975 to 1978 in the US Army. Wayne moved back to the Northern New Hampshire and Vermont areas where he resided until his passing.

Wayne worked in the construction industry until retiring. After retiring he started doing string art and made several pictures and other items. He also enjoyed metal detecting and glass blowing. In his younger years, he owned his favorite car, a 1970 Plymouth Road Runner "Super Bird" car.

Wayne is survived by his four daughters Atashia Downs and husband Dennis of Lancaster; Rotina Reynolds and Leola Jenkins and husband Jim all of Littleton; and Ora Elliott of Lancaster; two sons Wayne Elliott, Jr and wife Katie of Bath; and Raymond Elliott and wife Claire of Key West, FL; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, September 8, 2022, from 5-8 pm at the Armstrong-Charron Funeral Home; 100 State St.; Groveton. Funeral service will be held on Friday, September 9, 2022, at 10:00 am at the funeral home with Fr. Timothy Brook of the St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Lancaster, officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in the Northumberland Cemetery.
